Your tasks
You will support the team in the area of Waste & Logistics and play an active role in the safe decommissioning and processing of radioactively contaminated waste. Your responsibilities will include, amongst other things:
- Planning and carrying out post-dismantling and decontamination work
- Mechanical machining and disassembly of components
- Decontamination using mechanical and chemical methods
- Carrying out contamination checks, swab tests and direct measurements
- Clearance measurements in preparation for disposal
- Documentation of measurement results
- Assisting with the sorting, packaging and disposal of radioactive waste
- Assistance with transport and security clearance procedures in the security control area
Your profile
- A completed technical or trade apprenticeship (e.g. industrial mechanic, metalworker, plant mechanic or equivalent)
- Additional qualification in radiation protection (e.g. IHK-certified radiation protection technician)
- Several years’ professional experience in the control department of a nuclear power station or a nuclear facility
- Valid radiation passport and security clearance (ZÜP)
- A responsible, meticulous and independent approach to work
- Manual dexterity and the ability to work as part of a team
